Synsema Desk
A Desk is a computer of your own in the cloud with a desktop: for agents that use a computer (a browser, apps, the screen), and for having your computer from your phone or anywhere.
| Desk | 4 GB of memory, 40 GB of disk · USD 20/month |
| Desk Plus | 8 GB of memory, 80 GB of disk · USD 30/month |
| Desktop | XFCE, seen in the browser at https://<name>-desktop.synsema.app, private to you |
| Comes with | Google Chrome, Playwright, the cua computer server, a terminal, sudo, Python, Node, git, Synsema |
| Billing | One subscription per Desk, apart from the plans |
Make one§
In the dashboard: New → Desk. Choose a name, what it comes with (only the desktop, or Lampson installed and running), a size and a place, and pay. It is ready in about a minute and shows in Products.
The desktop§
https://<name>-desktop.synsema.app opens the desktop in the browser, on a computer or a phone. It is private: only you, signed in at synsema.com, can open it; anyone else is sent to sign in, and a signed-in stranger is refused.
The machine is yours: install what you want with sudo apt, pip, npm; it stays on its disk. The language and the clock follow your account.
For agents§
- cua (trycua) listens on the Desk for computer-use agents: screenshots, clicks, typing.
- Playwright drives Chrome for agents that use a browser.
- An agent that serves something (Lampson's hub, for one) answers at
https://<name>.synsema.app,
delivered from 127.0.0.1 with X-Forwarded-*, as behind your own reverse proxy.
Places and prices§
A Desk is made where a machine of its size can be had at its price: Europe today (Falkenstein, Nuremberg, Helsinki). When a place has none, it is said before you pay, and you choose another.
Deleting it, and when it is not paid§
Deleting a Desk deletes its machine and everything on its disk, and cancels its subscription. If its subscription ends, it is powered off and deleted 30 days later, with an email when it happens, a week before and a day before; paying again within those days turns it back on.
